Closing the Loop on Paper: Eneris and Europapier Polska Launch New Campaign

Eneris and Europapier Polska have launched a joint environmental education campaignPaper in the Circular Economy, to raise awareness of the role paper can play in a more sustainablecircular model of resource use.

The campaign focuses on paper as a valuable recyclable material that, when properly sorted, can be recovered, processed and brought back into use many times over. Its aim is to encourage more responsible habits around paper use and disposal, while highlighting the environmental and economic benefits of effective recycling.

Research shows that around 3.5 million tonnes of paper are used in Poland every year. As one of the country’s major waste streams, paper represents a significant recycling opportunity. When collected and separated correctly, it can be efficiently reused, helping conserve natural resources, reduce energy consumption and support the transition to a circular economy.

“Paper has enormous recycling potential. Whether it remains in circulation or becomes waste depends on how well it is sorted at home, in the office or at the printing stage. Our goal is to show that even small everyday habits can make a real difference to the environment,” said Dorota Włoch, CEO of Eneris Surowce.

The campaign combines Eneris’s expertise in waste management with Europapier Polska’s market knowledge and distribution reach as one of Poland’s leading suppliers of paper and cardboard. Together, the two companies will develop practical guidance on paper sorting, alongside recommendations for more responsible purchasing decisions and more effective recycling processes.

“Working with thousands of companies and institutions across Poland every day, we see how important clear guidance on recycling and cost optimisation really is. Our strategic partnership with Eneris allows us to connect environmental education with practical solutions at the points where paper enters circulation,” said Marek Cholewa, CEO of Europapier Polska.

As part of the initiative, the partners will create a range of educational content, including expert articles, infographics and animations explaining the closed-loop journey of paper. The campaign will also trace paper’s path from disposal to reprocessing and into a new life as a recycled product.

It will spotlight the importane of correct sorting, offer practical advice on reducing paper consumption at home and in the workplace, and examine what happens to paper in sectors where usage is especially high, such as printing. The campaign will also look at the additional waste generated during processing and recommend the most effective recycling solutions.
