ENERIS Grabplast awarded Blue Angel certification for reBAG bags
ENERIS Grabplast has secured Blue Angel certification for its reBAG film bags. This is one of the most respected and trusted eco-labels in Europe.
Blue Angel is the world’s oldest environmental certification, in operation since 1978. The label is awarded by RAL gGmbH, an independent German institution. It is based on ISO 14024 — the standard that governs how eco-labels are awarded and environmental criteria independently verified.
Certification for recycled products
reBAG bags have been certified under category “DE-UZ 30a – products made from recycled plastic”.
The label confirms compliance with rigorous German requirements covering environmental protection, health and safety, and recyclability. Grabplast bags are made from at least 80% recycled material – regranulate certified under RecyClass.
The circular economy in practice
Blue Angel certification confirms that reBAG bags embody the principles of the circular economy. The certification process covers the product’s entire life cycle – from raw material sourcing and processing, through manufacturing and use, to end-of-life management. Its aim is to minimise environmental impact while maintaining high product quality and functionality.
From waste to new product
The certification is also a testament to the efficiency of Grabplast’s processes.
Plastics sorted at Eneris facilities are sent to the Grabowo plant, where they are processed into LDPE regranulate.
The resulting raw material is used to manufacture film bags, which are supplied under existing contracts, sold to business partners, and distributed to residents of the municipalities we serve.
Achieving Blue Angel certification demonstrates that reBAG products meet the highest environmental standards, and marks a further step in growing our range of products built on recycled raw materials.
