Poland: Flood at the Eneris base in Kłodzko

The September flood that went across few European countries also strongly affected Poland, our employees and Eneris Polish locations in Lower Silesia and the Opole region. The most difficult situation took place at Eneris ECU – Kłodzko Municipality, where the base and the houses of our employees were flooded. Thanks to the efficient action of the crew, the equipment was evacuated on time. The water receded quickly, but cleaning up the effects of this flood will take much longer.

Companies from all over Poland actively participated in our Eneris support for flood victims. Transports from our locations were arriving at Eneris ECU, which coordinated the aid, and Kłodzko was visited by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eneris, Mr. Artur Dela. He had the opportunity to talk to employees from the flood-affected areas and thank them for their dedication, meet the Mayor of Kłodzko, as well as see the extent of the damage and our temporary base, prepared at lightning speed by the ECU team. We still cooperate with Polish local governments in cleaning, lend equipment and employees, and participate in the collection of waste from flooded houses and apartments.

Scientists claims that the heavy rains that caused floods in Europe this autumn were not only stronger, but also more likely due to climate change. If we do not stop warming, such rainfall will be even more dangerous in the future, and our infrastructure is not ready for it.
